MANILA, Philippines – Two low pressure areas were seen within the Philippine area of responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday.

In its latest weather bulletin, Pagasa said that one of the low pressure areas was seen 590 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes while the other was seen 190 kilometers east northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar. The second low pressure area was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone, which is affecting central and southern Luzon and Visayas and bringing widespread rains over these regions.

In its latest weather forecast, Pagasa said central and southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Rains will become widespread over the eastern sections and Palawan which may trigger flashfloods and landslides while the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains and thunderstorms.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, Pagasa said.
