MANILA, Philippines—Social Secretary Dinky Soliman confirmed on Sunday over Radyo Inquirer the number of Filipino youth involved in drug trafficking has increased in recent months.

Though there were no exact figures given, the earlier reports came from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Soliman said the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the local government units should work hand in hand in solving the problem.

“The DSWD provides rehabilitation and counselling to the youth but once they are back in the community, the LGUs should help in monitoring them so they won’t go back to their old vices,” she said.
