Tricycle driver mocks, mauls traffic enforcer
A traffic enforcer was mauled by a tricycle driver whom he confronted for allegedly making fun of him while he was manning traffic in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.
Brenulfo Braganza Jr. sustained a cut in the forehead and bruises in the body.
The tricycle driver was identified only as a certain Onyot, who fled after the scuffle, which happened on G.Y. Dela Cerna Street last Wednesday night.
Braganza, a member of the City Traffic Management Service (CTMS), told police that he heard Onyot shout “foul!” when he blew his whistle.
Braganza approached Onyot and asked him why he shouted “foul!”
The two men argued. It escalated when Onyot challenged the traffic enforcer to a fistfight and attacked him.
