Couple, friends shot in own living room for no apparent reason
MANILA, Philippines—Home proved no refuge for a couple and two of their friends who were shot in the comfort of their own living room in Marikina City by unidentified midnight “visitors.”
In a report submitted to the Eastern Police District on Thursday, case investigator Police Officer 2 Joel Sison of the Marikina police said that the shooting occurred shortly after midnight Wednesday in the living room of live-in partners Butch Nopies, 34, and Junie Redoble, 37, at Palay Street, Barangay (village) Tumana.
The couple’s friends and neighbors, Emerita Borda, 34, and Jonil Adigue, 17, were staying over for the night.
The nightmare broke out when someone knocked on the door at around 12:30 a.m. in the middle of a downpour.
Adigue opened the door to two strangers, who simply shot him in the stomach, then proceeded to spray the living room with bullets.

Quoting the victims, Sison described one of the gunmen as being bald and short, the other having long hair.
While the victims were stumped as to who their assailants were, and why they were attacked, they told police they could definitely identify them if they saw them again.
