Cuenco twits Abellanosa for premature campaigning

CEBU City Councilor Rodrigo Abellanosa has been distributing T-shirts and umbrellas in the south district of Cebu City according to former congressman  Antonio Cuenco.

Cuenco said an ally barangay captain showed him a sack filled with  t-shirts printed with Abellanosa’s name for distribution in their barangay.

But the said barangay captain did not distribute the t-shirts and instead kept these in his barangay hall, said Cuenco.

Cebu Daily News triedbut failed to reach Abellanosa for comment yesterday. Calls made to his cellular phone were left unanswered.

Cuenco who has announced his political plans earlier may be facing Abellanosa in the congressional race of the south district of Cebu City.

Abellanosa will be running under Bando Osmena Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) of Rep. Tomas Osmeña while Cuenco will be under Team Rama.

Cueno said he finds Abellanosa’s moves funny and his display of generosity will not have impact as the election season has not even started.

At least four persons have been checking their chances to get the congressional seat in the south district.

Aside from Cuenco and Abellanosa, lawyer Artistotle Batuhan and Pagcor casino manager Renato “Junjun” Osmeña Jr. may also run as independent candidates. /Doris C. Bongcac, Chief of Reporters
