Newly formed elite Yawyan team faces first tough test on June 30 card

THE NEWLY FORMED Cebu Top Team-Yawyan Ardigma will have its baptism of fire on June 30 as they fight in the Soma Kick Boxing Club’s MMA fight card at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

However, not all of the team’s fighters will seei action as only four will be representing the team, which is headed by Yawyan Ardigma Visayas-Mindanao chief Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr.

Caniga Jr. wants to prove that his team deserves to represent Cebu in future tournaments.

Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) fighter Renan “Limbas” Noblefranca and Geronimo Etac will head the fighters of the Cebu Top Team. Also making their debut for the team are Rolando Nacua Jr. and veteran amateur MMA fighter Slotty Avila.

FEATURED STORIES

Noblefranca will face kick boxing expert Arnel Ylanan while Etac will go up against Jose Leo Rodrigo. Nacua will fight Moises Nudalo while Avila faces John Edu Torbiso of Durex KBC, who he already defeated once in Cebu.

The fight card is organized by MMA promoter Vicky Llanes and match maker Julius Romblon.

In the double header main event, James Serenio of Soma KBC will fight Jafet Flores while Joerick Rivera will fight Projectiles Pit Muay Thai chief Gino Po. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G.ROSAL
