500 pedestrians apprehended for jaywalking – MMDA

MANILA, Philippines – At least 500 pedestrians were apprehended Tuesday by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in its intensified campaign against jaywalking, an official told Radyo Inquirer on Wednesday.

Many of those  apprehended, MMDA General Manager Corazon Jimenez said,  opted  to undergo 15-minute on-the-spot disaster preparedness seminar, instead of paying a fine of P200.

“500 po yung nahuli sa iba’t ibang lugar. Ito po isa lang bababala sa mga sanay na sanay na mag-cross sa ibang lugar,” Jimenez  sai.
