THE CEBU Global Warriors caught fire in the second half to defeat the Teleperformance Lions, 85-70, in the southern division action of the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
The Warriors struggled in the first two two quarters, allowing the Lions to take a 33-28 lead at the bend.
Waking up from an offensive slumber, Cebu Global went to work in the third period, where nearly matched its first half output, outscoring Teleperformance, 26-19, to steal the lead, 54-52, going into the fourth.
The Warriors finished the Lions with a searing 31-18 run in the final frame.
Cebu Global, which improved to 2-2 (win-loss), was led by Jose Magdadaro, Rowen Tagalog and Jay Pardiang, who scattered 28, 23 and 21 points, respectively.
Frenche Bonn Petallo scored 22 points, while Ramon Felipe Isada had 10 for the Lions, who dropped to 1-3 (win-loss).
In the northern division, the Aegis Vipers bucked a sloppy start to turn back the Calltek Trojans, 71-57.
The Vipers trailed at the end of the first period, 10-18, but went unstoppable in the next periods ta bag their fourth win in five games.
Clifford Amarado led the Vipers with 22 points, while Dean Junber Escalon added 15.
