Velasco home: Another creative design, landscaping work by Lorenz Inos
Landscaping done by Lorenz Inos projects elegance and grandeur to the Velasco home.
TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — The once sleepy town of Talavera has become one of the fastest growing areas in Nueva Ecija.
The many fruit and food stalls, rice mills and trading centers, plant and flower shops, restaurants and resorts, and shopping malls that dot Maharlika Highway are proof of the province’s robust economic and business activities. You see a lot of big houses, too, which many consider as a symbol of progress and wealth.
One of these houses is owned by Rommel and Beverly Velasco, a couple who have made their rice milling and trading business one of the biggest in Talavera.
Standing on their property and business hub along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Pascual, their house provides a showcase of success and elegance.
Of course, that’s a description that can very well apply to the other big houses in the town. A visit, or peek, into their houses will reveal fine and expensive furniture and decor.
Some probably have a modern and tech-based app installed for home security and other household functions. What usually sets the big houses apart from each other, though, is the landscaping.
A well-manicured lawn simply offers a delightful and refreshing scene within a massive structure of concrete and steel. Plants and flowers arrayed in a creative way and placed in strategic spots provide a sense of calm and relief to tired bodies and spirits.
They allow the house to breathe, rendering a cozy and restful ambience. The Velasco house offers such a treat not only to Rommel, Beverly and their daughter but also to relatives, friends, business associates and visitors from the province and abroad who had been there.
Famed landscape artist Lorenz Inos, who also hails from Talavera, did much to produce such a desired effect.
He helped design the house and put the finishing touches, so to speak, with plants, trees and flowers from his very own plant and tree nursery. The masterful strokes Inos mustered have created a lovely garden which transforms into a magical sight at night as solar lights turn on when dusk sets in. A roundabout drive-in in front of the main door has added a touch of grandeur and glamor.
Lorenz, as usual, used his creative skill and experience to provide the green accent to the structure. Having done landscaping projects in Nueva Ecija and other places outside of the province, he has acquired and perfected a creative touch to blend nature’s natural beauty with a concrete structure. His works had been featured in writeups in various publications and online sites as well, receiving praises and critical acclaim from fellow landscape artists and plant enthusiasts.
Lorenz relied on these elements to design and build the Velasco home, which Beverly fondly calls their dream house. /tsb
