5.2-magnitude quake hits waters off Davao Occidental island

MANILA, Philippines — A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the shore of Balut Island in Davao Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its latest bulletin, the Phivolcs said the tremor, which was tectonic in origin, occurred at 2:25 p.m.

Its epicenter was located 357 kilometers southeast of Balut Island in the municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
No aftershocks and damage to properties are expected from the quake. /das
