3 City Hall workers flunk drug test
THREE employees of the Divisions for the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) are found positive of drug use.
“One casual employee and two job-order employees are positive of shabu,” said Joey Herrera head of the City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap).
Cosap yesterday conducted a surprise drug test on 75 DWUP employees.
Herrera said the use of methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as “shabu” is rampant among government employees.
Shabu is an “upper” type of drug which temporarily alerts and enhances locomotion.
The results of yesterday’s test will be submitted to a confirmatory test in Manila and will be available after two weeks.

Veronica Morelos, chief of HRDO, said if the drug users were casual employees, their contracts will not be renewed./CORRESPONDENT TWEENY M. MALINAO
