MANILA, Philippines – Four suspected armed robbers were killed in what police described as a shootout with policemen early Saturday in Taytay, Rizal.
Police identified one of the slain men as Danilo Arsellas, a resident of Obadia Street in Barangay (village) Sta. Ana. Arsellas was with three still-unidentified cohorts when the alleged shootout took place at 2:45 a.m. on Baytown Coastal Road, Barangay Muzon, police said.
“The four suspects had just held up a woman and her daughter at gunpoint prior to the incident,” Senior Superintendent Arthur Masungsong, Taytay police chief, told the Inquirer.
Police recovered, among other things, one .45-caiber pistol, three .38-caliber revolvers, and one Magnum 45 revolver from the alleged robbers, Masungsong said.
