Little Azkals lose last 2 matches in Malaysia

THE PHILIPPINE Little Azkals failed to log a victory in their last two games in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under 14 Festival of Football 2012 Southeast Asia Region at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia.

The Philippine Under 14 squad, thus, ended their stint with a win-draw-loss record of 3-2-4.

The Little Azkals fought Myanmar to another draw, this time at 1-all, in their last match yesterday. Early in the day, they bowed to Thailand, 1-2.

After having committed numerous mistakes, Chester Gio Pabualan finally made it through for the team by rebounding Jovan Marfiga’s attempt which hit the bar against Myanmar.

Myanmar  scored its goal in the first half while the Little Azkals scored the equalizer in the second half.

In the game against Thailand, the Little Azkals found the back of the net first on a goal by Major Dean Ebarle, who drilled in the ball from a back pass by Jeremiah Borlongan.

Thailand scored its goals in the second half, the first via a long shot and the second scored in the dying seconds of the match.

The Little Azkals won its matches against Cambodia (2-0) Australia (3-0) and Timor Leste (1-0). They draws were against Myanmar (0-0 and 1-1) while their losses were against Vietnam (0-2), Singapore (0-1), Indonesia (0-3) and Thailand (1-2).  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
