LTFRB summons bus operator involved in Edsa tunnel crash
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, summoned the operators of the bus involved in the multi-vehicular accident in the Edsa-Quezon Avenue tunnel in Quezon City.
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Wednesday summoned the operators of the bus involved in the multi-vehicular accident in the Edsa-Quezon Avenue tunnel in Quezon City.
Based on the show cause order by the LTFRB, the agency summoned Diamond V-Eight Transport Inc., as well as a certain Rogelio Mendoza and Ingrid Therese Borabo, over the accident at the Quezon Avenue Tunnel on Wednesday morning.

They are then ordered to explain why their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) should not be suspended, canceled, or revoked for “Employing Reckless Driver Resulting in Multiple Road Crashes and injuries.”
The LTFRB said its Board En Banc was acting motu proprio in summoning the operator of the bus.
The operators and the named respondents are directed to appear before the board at 10:00 a.m. on June 4.
“Failure on the part of the respondents to file an Answer within the prescribed period and to attend the hearing of this case on the aforementioned date shall be considered a waiver to be heard, and this case shall be submitted for resolution based on the records of the Board,” the order read.
Based on a police report from the Quezon City Police District, at least six people were injured in the multi-vehicle accident at the Edsa-Quezon Avenue tunnel.
