Mandaue police to launch own band

/ 06:40 AM July 02, 2011

WITH a new set of musical instruments, the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) prepares to launch their own band to promote a more wholesome image of law enforcers.

Policemen each contributed P200 to P300 cash to buy musical instruments worth P162,500. Other instruments were donated from other sources.

“Through our music, mausab ang negative nga panan-aw sa mga tawo sa kapulisan. We’re also doing this because there are a lot of talented policemen,” Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac, city police director, said.

As they are willing to play in any event for free, Gillamac said their band will also make them closer to the community.
