Bad weather forces cancellation of some flights

MANILA, Philippines— Several domestic flights were cancelled Saturday due to bad weather brought about  by Tropical Storm Ambo.

According to the media affairs division of the Manila International Airport Authority, at least 32 flights, mostly going to and coming from Caticlan—gateway to Boracay—were called off due to the weather disturbance.

Nineteen of the flights belonged to budget airline Cebu Pacific, 11 flights belonged to Air Philippines, while the other two were of Philippine Airlines.

PAL’s canceled flights included PR-277 (Manila to Legazpi) and PR-278 (Legazpi to Manila).

Some areas in Bicol had been placed under Storm Signal No. 1 on Friday but storm warnings were lifted Saturday.

Cebu Pacific’s cancelled flights included flights from Manila to Legazpi and back; Manila to Naga City and back; Manila Busuanga and back; and Manila to Caticlan.

Air Philippines’ canceled flights were all going to and from Caticlan.
