Cavite cops seize 3 illegal firearms, shabu from 4 suspects
LUCENA CITY — Cavite police seized from four arrested suspects three illegal firearms and shabu (crystal meth) in operations on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 8 and 9.
The Region 4A police reported Wednesday that anti-illegal drug operatives in Dasmariñas City nabbed “Saidona” and “Manny” at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday after they sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in a transaction in Barangay Salawag.
The suspects were caught in alleged possession of four sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth P33,592 and an undocumented .9mm pistol loaded with three bullets.
In Noveleta town, members of a drug enforcement unit held “Jonel” in another buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Rosa 1 at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
The suspect yielded shabu worth P408 and a 12-gauge shotgun and two bullets.
Policemen in Naic town arrested “Peña” at 9:35 p.m. in Barangay Mabulo after he offered an undocumented .45 pistol loaded with seven bullets to a police agent posing as a buyer for P19,000.
Cavite police are investigating further to identify the source of shabu and the illegal guns.
They would subject the confiscated firearms to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine if these were used in past crime incidents.
All suspects are under police custody and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, illegal possession of a firearm, and violation of the election gun ban.
