INTENSITY and drama are expected to go a noth higher today as the reigning champions, Prime Asia Pawnshop-University of the Visayas aim to take a commanding 2-0 lead against the Kia Motors-Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats in Game 2 of the best-of-five finals series of the 6th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) Partner’s Cupay at the Cebu Coliseum.

FEATURED STORIES

The animosity and the intensity reached fever pitch in the dying seconds of Game 1 as a free-for-all occurred with just 33 seconds left in the match. At the center of it were UV’s Andrew Avillanoza and Lloyd Sanchez, the two protagonists of the fistfight, who are both suspended for today’s game as a result of their ejection in Game 1.

The Wildcats aim to tie the series today but in order to do so, they must get more production from their star wingman, Floyd Taboada, who was limited to just 15 markers in the series opener. Ample production must also be provided by from Allen Dimco, Vincent Menguito, Axel Rabaya and John Graf.

On the other side, Prime Asia hopes to keep chugging along and make this a short series as they aim to impose their will again in the shaded lane behind their tall and agile frontcourt, led by Wowie Escosio and backstopped by Chris Perolino and Raffy Octobre. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
