Shabu worth over P1.5 million seized in Cavite, Laguna drug busts
LUCENA CITY — Seven suspected drug traffickers were arrested on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 31 and Feb. 1) in buy-bust operations in Cavite and Laguna provinces.
The operations yielded more than P1.5 million worth of shabu (crystal meth), the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) said in a report Saturday.
Police reported that anti-narcotics operatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite arrested “Maria Jessica” at 11:20 p.m. on Friday in Barangay (village) Victoria Reyes.
The suspect yielded one plastic sachet and one knot-tied transparent plastic ice bag containing shabu weighing 100 grams worth P680,000.
Earlier, the same police team busted “Nilo,” “Alexander” and “Gil” in another sting operation in Barangay Sampaloc 1 at around 6 p.m.

Article continues after this advertisementThe operatives confiscated two mobile phones in the two operations. These items will be examined for records of drug transactions.
In San Pablo City, Laguna, the local police drug enforcement unit collared “Darwin” and his two unidentified associates in Barangay San Francisco around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Seized from them was a knot-tied plastic bag containing 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000.
The PRO-4A tagged Nilo, Maria Jessica, Darwin and his two partners as among the persons included in the police drug watch list as HVIs or high-value individuals in the local drug trade.
HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
Police identified Alexander and Gil as street-level drug pushers in Dasmariñas City.
Cavite and Laguna police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the seized shabu.
All suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
