Mobile phone seller shot dead by buyer in Laguna

LUCENA CITY — A man who helped his friend in selling a mobile phone was shot and killed by the buyer on Monday midnight in Calamba City, Laguna.
The Region 4A police said in a report on Tuesday, Jan. 21, that before the shooting incident, a certain “Mark Christian” contacted “Mark” and offered to sell his mobile phone.
At 11:20 p.m., Mark Christian handed the mobile phone to “Ronnie” and together they went to the meeting place in Barangay Canlubang for the transaction.
When they arrived at the site, Ronnie presented the phone to Mark but without any apparent reason, the supposed buyer shot Ronnie several times using an unspecified kind of handgun.
The killer escaped aboard a motorcycle and left his victim dead.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the motive behind the incident.
Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the assailant.
