Prosecution hears mass before Corona’s verdict

MANILA, Philippines—Members of the prosecution attend a mass early Tuesday before the Senate, acting as an impeachment court, gave its verdict on Chief Justice Renato Corona.

The mass, led by Monsignor Arnel Lagarejos, was held at the spacious Senator Ambrosio Padilla room, which has been assigned to the prosecutors for the duration of the impeachment proceedings.

House Deputy Speaker Lorenzo “Erin” Tañada III, Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares, Ilocos Norte Representative Rodolfo Fariñas were present during the mass along with other lawmakers.

The Senate is set to decide on the impeachment case against Corona Tuesday afternoon.
