MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported a 23 percent decrease in crime in more than one month.

According to data from the Metro Manila police, from Nov. 23, 2024 to Jan. 15, 2025, it seized P153 million worth of illegal drugs.

In its anti-gambling campaign, the police arrested more than 3,800 suspects and confiscated around P928,000 worth of pot money in 1,518 operations.

NCRPO also seized 364 illegal guns and arrested 352 individuals for possessing unregulated firearms.

The police also logged over 2,000 arrests of wanted persons and over 349,000 violators of local ordinances during the same period.
