LUCENA CITY — Anti-illegal drug operatives arrested two alleged big-time drug traffickers. They seized over P200,000 worth shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The Region 4A police in a belated report Wednesday, Jan. 8, said the provincial drug enforcement unit arrested “Jun” and “Nard” at 3:33 a.m. after they sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Calumpang.
The suspects, classified as high-value individuals (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, yielded 11 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 40 grams worth P272,000.
HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
Authorities also seized a mobile phone which will be examined for records of drug transactions.
The police are investigating the source of the seized illegal drugs.
The suspects are in police custody and will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
