LUCENA CITY — Anti-illegal drug operatives in Rizal province arrested seven drug suspects and seized more than P1.4 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm in operations on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Region 4A police reported that the provincial drug enforcement unit arrested “Fritz” and “Jaybee” at 8:39 p.m. on Wednesday after they sold P8,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Del Remedios in Cardona town.

The suspects, classified as high-value individuals (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, yielded four knot-tied plastics and seven plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 180 grams worth P1,224,000. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

Authorities also seized a mobile phone which will be examined for records of drug transactions.

The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their distribution of illegal drugs.

In San Mateo town, policemen nabbed “Benjamin” in another buy-bust operation in Barangay Sto. Niño at 12:07 a.m. Thursday.

The suspect yielded six sachets of meth worth P102,000.

Earlier, local cops also busted “Monaliza,” “Angel Ibad,” and “Aljohn” in Barangay Ampid 1 at 9:06 p.m. on Wednesday.

The three, all identified drug pushers, were found with five sachets of meth valued at P99,280.

In Cainta town, one alias “Sonny” was arrested in Barangay San Andres in a drug sting around 11:25 p.m.

The suspect was caught with P34,000 worth of meth and an undocumented caliber .45 pistol loaded with four bullets.
Rizal police are investigating the source of the seized illegal drugs.
