MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon, or amihan, and the shear line, or the convergence point of hot and cold winds, will still cause rains over the northern and central parts of Luzon, state meteorologists said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country including Metro Manila would have fair weather, save for occasional rain showers, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Despite the rainy prediction over northern provinces, Pagasa still has not monitored any low pressure area or tropical cyclone near the Philippine area of responsibility.
