Magnitude 4 earthquake hits Ilocos Norte town
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4 earthquake jolted a municipality in Ilocos Norte province on Thursday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its 11:36 a.m. update on Friday, Phivolcs said the earthquake occurred at 7:12 p.m. on Thursday, with its epicenter located northeast of Pasaquin, Ilocos Norte.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and with a depth of focus of eight kilometers.
Phivolcs said Intensity I was reported in Laoag City and Pasaquin.
It also noted that no damage or aftershocks are expected from the quake.
