MANILA, Philippines — The House prosecution panel has used roughly P6 million for the impeachment trial on Chief Justice Renato Corona, a lawmaker said on Monday.

House Committee on Accounts chairman Anwaray Party-list Representative Florencio Noel told reporters that the initial P5 million allotted by House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. was insufficient for the team’s operations for the trial.

Noel said additional funds were drawn from the House of Representative’s Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), adding that P4.3 million of the said expenses has been liquidated.

Only P1.27 million has yet to be liquidated, Noel said.
