Bacolod airport now cleared of plane that overshot runway – Caap
MANILA, Philippines — The Bacolod-Silay Airport is now cleared of the aircraft that overshot the runway on Friday morning.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) said Philippine Air Lines (PAL) Express flight 2P-2285 experienced a “minor runway excursion” shortly after landing.
“The aircraft has been cleared by the authorities and is now safely parked at a regular aircraft bay in the Bacolod airport, where operations are running as usual,” PAL said in a statement.
PAL said all 69 passengers of the flight had disembarked the plane safely.
Caap said PAL’s aircraft overshot the runway “due to heavy rainfall that significantly reduced braking efficiency.”
