Aguelo, Tubigon clash for PBF title tonight
THE Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight title belt will be at stake when Adonis ‘TI Yamagata’ Aguelo of the TI Cebu gym of Mandaue City fights Godwin Tubigon of Dipolog City at the Mandaue City Sports Complex tonight.
Aguelo and Tubigon both weighed in at 125 1/4 lbs during the official weigh-in held yesterday noon at the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) office of Cebu.
TI Yamagata Promotions announced Thursday evening that fight fans can catch the fight via live internet streaming on www.ustream.tv/channel/ti-yamagata-boxing. The general admission seats are also offered free to the public.
Fighting on the undercards are Gerpaul “TI Yamagata” Valero (112 lbs) vs. Michael Bastasa (111 1/4 lbs) – 8 rounds and Jayson Egera (126 1/2 lbs) of Siaton, Negros Oriental vs. substitute Edison Serrano (130 1/2 lbs) of the Omega gym of Mabolo – 8 rounds.
Japanese boxer TI Yamagata ‘Dodong’ Masashi Tada (108 lbs) will spice up the preliminary bouts when he faces Jaime Bermiso (108 lbs) of Leyte in six rounds. Masashi trained under Brix Flores in Mandaue City for several weeks hoping to bounce back from his majority decision loss to JR Salvador last February in Lapu-Lapu City.
The six rounder between Ardie ‘TI Yamagata’ Boyose (116 lbs) vs. Robert Awetin (116 3/4 lbs) and the four rounder between Jayvee Galea (104 1/2 lbs) vs. Roel Sumabong (105 lbs) round up the undercards.
