Multi-titled Australian triathlete to compete in Tabuelan race in June

AUSTRALIAN professional triathlete Dan Brown has just confirmed his participation in the Tabuelan 111 Triathlon on June 17 at the Maravilla Beach, Tabuelan, Cebu.

The event will feature a 2-kilometer swim, 88k bike and 21k run.

Brown, a 16-time Ironman who recently competed in Ironman Australia and Ironman 70.3 Singapore, is reportedly looking forward to this event.

“I am very much looking forward to the innaugural Tabuelan 111 triathlon. It will be an exciting and important day for triathlon in the whole region and shows the progress of our sport in the Philippines. See you on the start line in June” said Dan Brown.

The triathlon is in celebration of the town’s fiesta and will be the fist time in the history of Tabuelan where such an activity will be held.

“It will be great to have Dan race the Tabuelan 111 Triathlon. I believe this race, together with the Ironman 70.3 and Xterra are the premier Triathlon events in Cebu,” said Chris Aldeguer the president and CEO of Vellum Cycles.

“The organizers, led by the Tabuelan Mayor Rex Gerona, Tagghap Tri Club and Sugbu Triathlon have done amazing work with their preparation for this event,” added Aldeguer.
