Farmer found dead at home

A 29-YEAR-OLD farmer was found hanging dead in his home in barangay Mangoco, Ginatilan town, Cebu.

Police said Edwin Tulabing Medel had a fight with his live-in partner before he was discovered dead last Thursday morning.

Police said Medel and his partner Marites Emia Tugahan, 29, argued in their home last Sunday.

During the argument, the man allegedly hit the woman forcing Tugahan’s mother, Cirila, to intervene.

Police said Medel turned his anger to Cirila and tried to attack her with a bolo. Fortunately, Cirila was able to run.

Police said the couple was made to appear at the barangay hall to settle the conflict.

Because of the incident, Marites did not go home. Last Wednesday, Medel asked the woman to return home and threatened that he would commit suicide if she fails to do so.

It was only last Thursday that the woman went home and was shocked to see her partner hanging by the neck.

Police said the body will be autopsied to determine if there was a foul play involved in the farmer’s death./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
