New CA chief is Justice Fernanda Lampas-Peralta

MANILA, Philippines — Associate Justice Fernanda Lampas-Peralta is the new chief of the Court of Appeals (CA), the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Tuesday.

According to the PCO, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Peralta as presiding justice of CA and administered the oath of office to her at the Malacañan Palace on Monday, November 18.

Before her appointment, Peralta served as acting presiding justice of CA for two months, following the mandatory retirement of then-presiding Justice Remedios Salazar Fernando in September 2023.

Peralta was a graduate of Business Administration at the University of the East and finished law school at San Beda College and Far Eastern University.

She passed her board exam as a Certified Public Accountant in 1980, and the bar exam in 1984—both on the first try.
