LUCENA CITY — Two suspected drug traffickers were arrested on Monday and yielded P340,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Silang town in Cavite province.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported that anti-narcotics operatives arrested “Ed” and “Ryan” at 5 p.m. after they sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Bulihan.

Authorities seized four plastic sachets containing shabu that weighed 50 grams and were worth P340,000 as per the valuation of the Dangerous Drugs Board.

The report tagged Ed as an HVI or high-value individual in the local drug trade, while Ryan is classified as a street drug pusher. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

Police also confiscated a mobile phone, which they will examine for records of drug transactions.

The suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
