MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued two Filipinos and a Korean aboard a distressed yacht off Lubang in Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday.
In a report on Thursday, the PCG said its substation received information about the yacht that drifted into “shallow, rocky waters” near Barangay Binakas last November 11 due to inclement weather.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the yacht had departed from Puerto Princesa, Palawan, bound for Subic, Zambales. En route, the crew encountered severe weather, including strong winds and large waves, which caused the vessel to drift into shallow, rocky waters near Barangay Binakas,” the agency said.
“The yacht, partially submerged due to severe weather, was located approximately 70 meters from the shore,” it added.
All three were safely evacuated from the vessel after the PCG conducted a search and rescue operation.
According to the PCG, the yacht was towed to Sitio Tumibo in Barangay Tangal, Lubang on Wednesday.
