Magsaysay to run under Binay’s party
MANILA, Philippines—Zambales Representative Milagros “Mitos” Magsaysay announced on Friday that she has joined Vice President Jejomar Binay’s Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Lakas).
Magsaysay, who previously ran under Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, said in a statement that she joined PDP-Lakas for the midterm elections.
PDP-Lakas has recently joined forces with Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) of former president Joseph Estrada to form the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).
Magsaysay is eyeing a place in UNA’s senatorial slate for 2013.
Lakas-CMD has earlier signified support for Magsaysay even if she runs under PDP-Laban.
