MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R.  Marcos Jr. on Wednesday thanked government and private sector workers and volunteers who lent their time and resources to help victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Salamat sa inyong suporta,” he added.

(Likewise—it’s not just the staff, not only our colleagues in the government. Likewise, to the private sector that tirelessly joined in ensuring the rights and welfare of every Filipino—thank you for your help. Thank you for your support.)

In a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim last November 4, Marcos thanked him for deploying Malaysian air assets to help the Philippine government deliver aid to Kristine – hit areas.

Marcos also recognized the assistance extended by neighboring nations to the Philippines in times of need.

“In this time of mourning the lives lost, it is also heartening to see how our friends in Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) have responded with support in our time of need. This kind of solidarity is what strengthens our region,” he said.
