PHLPost unveils new Postal ID with address verification system
MANILA, Philippines – More than a year after the suspension of rush and regular Postal ID application, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) on Tuesday launched the new and upgraded Postal ID at the Manila Central Post Office New Annex.
PHLPost Chairman Justice Stephen Cruz said the new Postal ID has an address verification system, making it a primary document for government and financial transactions, including passport applications.
“Government and private institutions can use the Postal ID to verify a recipient’s identity and address,” Cruz said on Tuesday.
PHLPost resumed the processing of postal IDs nationwide last October 15.
Cruz added that PHLPost is now innovating and modernizing its services through this new feature, as the address verification system is a basic service offered by other postal administrations across the globe.

Cashless transactions too
PHLPost also committed to expanding the use of the postal ID in the future, including cashless transactions.
“We want it to be a functional one. Meaning, it’s not just an ID, it can be somewhat like GCash, where it can be used for cashless transactions. For convenience, in the future,” Cruz added.
Applying for a Postal ID
- One (1) copy of duly-accomplished PID application form
- One (1) proof of identity or Primary IDs
- One (1) proof of address
Application forms must be submitted to designated post office capturing sites nationwide, as the registration and capturing of fingerprints, pictures, and signatures are done onsite.
“The Postal ID card will be delivered to the recipient’s mailing address, thus verifying the address of the cardholder,” PHLPost said in a statement.
Mobile enrollment service was also made possible in barangays, business companies, events, and organizations to bring PHLPost services closer to the public, the postal corporation noted.
PHLPost advised the public to visit their official website and social media pages for the complete list of capturing and registration post office sites.
