MANILA, Philippines — The office of Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte released on Tuesday a result of the lawmaker’s hair follicle test for illegal drugs.
Based on the drug test document, which Duterte’s office shared with members of the media, the Hi-Precision Diagnostics Center requested the examination of the lawmaker’s hair sample to Omega Laboratories on October 28. It also showed that Duterte’s hair sample was collected on October 23.
It further showed that Duterte’s hair sample was screened for multiple drugs namely Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Cocaine/Metabolites, Opiates, Extended Opiates, Phencyclidine (PCP), THC Metabolite (Marijuana), and Benzodiazepines.

“All tests returned negative results, indicating that none of these substances were detected in Duterte’s system,” a statement from Duterte’s office reads.
His office stressed that this drug test result proves Rep. Paolo Duterte’s claim of “being drug-free amidst rumors and accusations surrounding political figures.”
Aside from Duterte, PBA party-list Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles also underwent a hair follicle drug test. The result of Nograles’ drug test is yet to be revealed.
Earlier, Duterte and Nograles challenged each other to take the test for illegal drugs. Nograles will go against Paolo Duterte in the race for Davao City 1st District representative in the May 2025 polls.
The two issued the dare after Duterte’s sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, urged all candidates in next year’s midterm elections to take the drug test.
The Nograleses and the Dutertes have been bitter rivals in the Davao local political scene.
