MANILA, Philippines — The Commonwealth Market in Quezon City was damaged when a fire hit the establishment early Tuesday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection reported.
According to the BFP-National Capital Region (NCR), the blaze reached the first alarm at 2:37 a.m. and the second alarm by 3 a.m.
Firefighters said it was under control at 7:43 a.m. No word yet if the fire was extinguished as of this writing.

The BFP-NCR said a total of 18 fire trucks responded to the scene. It also said that an investigation would ensue to determine the cause and cost of the blaze as soon as it was finally put out.
