Davao cops net P8.8M worth of illegal drugs, 300 suspects

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities have arrested 300 individuals who yielded over P8.8 million worth of illegal drugs during their month-long operations in October in Davao City, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11.

PRO 11 said in a report Monday that they conducted 250 anti-illegal drug operations and confiscated 1,302.3954 grams of “shabu” (a slang for methamphetamine), 211 hills of marijuana plants, and 3,172.15 grams of marijuana leaves.

The confiscated illegal drugs from the arrested traffickers amount to P8,856,288, the report said.

Aside from this, police also reported that the anti-narcotics operatives arrested alias “JP,” who is tagged as the region’s top high-value individual (HVI). They also dismantled two major drug dens in Davao de Oro.

Based on the latest data from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Marcos administration’s anti-drug campaign has so far netted a total of P49.82 billion worth of narcotics to date. —Emmanuel John Abris, intern
