MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. opted not to comment on Vice President Sara Duterte’s remarks about exhuming his father’s body and then throwing it into the West Philippine Sea.
In an ambush interview after attending a Mass for his dead father on All Saints’ Day at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, Marcos was asked to react to Duterte’s pronouncements that drew criticisms, especially from administration allies.
“I’d rather not,” the President answered.

In a tell-all interview last October 18, Duterte said she previously warned Sen. Imee Marcos that if political attacks on her from the current administration continued, she would dig up the body of their father and toss it into the West Philippine Sea.
Duterte was Marcos’ running mate under the “UniTeam” banner in the 2022 elections.
