MANILA, Philippines — A portion of a block of “apartment tombs” at the Bagbag Public Cemetery in Quezon City was damaged by fire on All Saints’ Day (November 1), according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
In a report, the BFP said the blaze started at an informal settler area beside the cemetery around 9 a.m. on Friday and spread, reaching the first alarm at 9:02 a.m.
As seen in an image shared by the BFP, the fire climbed to the top of the cemetery’s apartment tombs.

The blaze was on second alarm at 9:17 a.m. and under control at 9:45 a.m. A fire out was declared by 10:17 a.m., according to the BFP.
Fire authorities have yet to provide other details like the cause of the fire and the cost of its damage as of writing.
