MANILA, Philippines — No major damages were reported at the country’s airports due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami), Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said on Monday.
Kristine exited the Philippine area of responsibility last October 25, but the storm left damage to infrastructure and agriculture and caused widespread flooding and loss of lives.

“Right now, all airports are operational, wala namang mga major damages na nangyari doon sa mga airports natin (there weren’t any major damages reported at our airports),” said Bautista.
The number of people affected by Kristine has climbed to over six million, while reported deaths are now at 116, based on the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

As of 8 a.m. on October 28, the agency said 6,717,755 individuals, or 1,662,416 families, were affected by the inclement weather or flooding brought about by Kristine nationwide.
