2-year-old girl drowns in flooded home in Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY – A two-year-old girl who fell off a ladder and landed on the flooded ground floor of their house in Baao town, Camarines Sur died on Saturday, police said on Sunday.
The Baao police reported that the child’s mother frantically searched for her daughter when she noticed she was missing at around 3 p.m. and subsequently found her in the floodwater.
The child was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The girl has yet to be counted among the fatalities in the Bicol region that continues to suffer the brunt of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) as many areas remained submerged in flood since its onslaught on Tuesday, October 22.
As of Saturday afternoon, the Bicol police reported that 34 people had died, 19 were injured, and three were still missing after the storm dumped heavy rains in the Bicol region.
