The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday said it has already granted special permits to 753 buses to operate during the traditional All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, or “Undas,” holiday this year. LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III said the board has issued 272 special permits equivalent to 753 buses, adding that the figure may increase as more operators applied for special permits on Tuesday. The special permits are valid from Oct. 25 to Nov. 10. Guadiz said additional special permits may also be issued should the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange determines that additional buses are needed. The board began approving special permits for the buses as early as Oct. 15 for routes to Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Bicol regions. Utility vehicles may also apply for similar special permits, he added. —JEROME ANING
