MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and 22 other areas in Luzon were placed under the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 late Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said this wind signal indicates strong winds with speeds from 39 kilometers per hour (kph) up to 61 kph.

Minimal to minor threats to life and property are also possible in these conditions.

Pagasa said Kristine was last located some 410 kilometers west of Sinait in Ilocos Sur, moving west-northwestward at 30 kph. It was still packing up maximum wind speed of 95 kph and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

Kristine exited the Philippine area of responsibility as of 2 p.m. Friday.
