SANTA MAGDALENA, Sorsogon—Four towns in Sorsogon province, including Juban as the latest addition, have been placed under a state of calamity due to the devastation caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).
Juban Councilor Ryan De Jesus proposed the motion to declare the town under a state of calamity, which was subsequently approved by the Municipal Council.

In their resolution, town officials highlighted the “devastation brought by the storm” as the primary reason for the declaration, which was also backed by a recommendation from the town’s disaster risk reduction and management council.
Previously, the towns of Bulan, Donsol, and Matnog made similar declarations as they continued to address the severe impacts of the storm. INQ
