Emergency red rainfall warning stays in Metro Manila, 6 Luzon provinces
MANILA, Philippines — The red rainfall warning—which is classified by state meteorologists as an emergency, is still in effect in Metro Manila and six other provinces due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).
In its 11:05 p.m. report, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the rainfall warning is likewise in effect in , Laguna, Batangas, Cavite, Rizal, Zambales and parts of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Panukulan, Burdeos, Patnanungan, Jomalig, Polillo, Real, Tiaong, San Antonio, Dolores, Candelaria, Sariaya, Lucban, Sampaloc, Mauban, Tayabas).
Pagasa said that “severe flooding is expected” under the red rainfall warning, and urged residents in flood-prone areas to take necessary precautionary measures.
Bataan, the rest of Quezon (Pagbilao, Lucena, Atimonan, Perez, Alabat, Quezon, Padre Burgos) and parts of Bulacan (Dona Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, San Jose del Monte, Obando, Meycauayan, Marilao, Bulakan, Bocaue, Santa Maria) are under the orange rainfall warning.

Article continues after this advertisementA yellow rainfall warning is up over Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, the rest of Quezon (Agdangan, Buenavista, Calauag, Catanauan, General Luna, Guinayangan, Gumaca, Lopez, Macalelon, Mulanay, Pitogo, Plaridel, San Andres, San Francisco, San Narciso, Tagkawayan, Unisan) and the rest of Bulacan (Angat, Balagtas, Baliuag, Bustos, Calumpit, Malolos, Guiguinto, Hagonoy, Pandi, Paombong, Plaridel, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael).
This warning indicates that flooding is possible in these areas.
Kristine has maintained its strength while swirling over the coastal waters of Bolinao, Pangasinan, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 145 kph, according to Pagasa’s 11:00 p.m. bulletin.
