Davao police chief: Probe sees Quiboloy aiming to acquire 1,000 wives

MANILA, Philippines — Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy idolizes King Solomon, wanting to have 1,000 wives, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

During Wednesday’s hearing of the Senate committee on women looking into Quiboloy’s alleged crimes, PNP Davao City Police chief Col. Hansel Marantan disclosed their findings before Sen. Risa Hontiveros.

“Through his preaching with the inner pastorals, by narrative of the inner pastorals, Quiboloy aimed to acquire 1,000 women anchored on the biblical story of Solomon, King of Israel who had 700 wives and 300 concubines,” said Marantan.

Citing their data, Marantan said PNP believes Quiboloy had victimized around 200 women to date.

“Currently, the PNP identified 68 female personalities of different ages, who were victims of Quiboloy’s sexual exploitation,” said Marantan.

Quiboloy, who personally faced the crime allegations being hurled against him for the very first time, denied allegations that he sexually abused members of his church Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

The sect leader has been the subject of the Senate panel on women’s probe after victim-survivors sought the help of Hontiveros’ office, baring the ill-fate they endured in the hands of Quiboloy.

Among the allegations that Quiboloy is facing include large-scale human trafficking and rape of the members of his church Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
