ERCO-PTT routs Hijos Del Pueblo

The ERCO FC-PTT assumed temporary second spot in bracket A of the men’s Open of the 12th Cebu Interclub Football Cup after nailing its second straight win yesterday at the University of San Carlos Technological Center field.
ERCO FC-PTT routed Hijos Del Pueblo, 5-1, and now has six points with a win-draw-loss record of 2-0-1.
ERCO’s Jovan Torres broke the scoring ice in the 30th minute while Danilo Syurid made it 2-0 four minutes later.
The second half saw another back-to-back goals from ERCO courtesy of Neri Diamante (53rd) and Doods Melgo (58th) before Hijos managed to squeak in a goal in the 63rd minute via Eugene Cablay. That proved to be the team’s only goal of the game as Diamante’s 68th-minute goal sealed the easy win for ERCO.

In bracket B, Queen City United (QCU) finally claimed its first win with a 4-2 edging of Southwestern University to take the second spot with four points on a 1-1-1 card.

In the 40 and Above, San Roque Football Club (SRFC) nipped ERCO FC, 1-0.

ERCO, however, remained on top of the division with seven points while SRFC is at second with six.

Baliant Hawk UTD finally earned a win by defeating QCU-B, 2-1, leaving the latter as the only team without a win while Springdale FC continues to lead bracket A of the boys 17 after its match against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu ended in a scoreless draw.

Springdale boasts of 10 points, three points clear of the Magis Eagles which has seven.

Visiting Ormoc FC scored its first win after blanking University of San Carlos North Campus, 6-0.

In bracket B, the Cebu Team shared the top spot with idle Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy after crushing DB Razkals, 11-0. Both teams now have nine points apiece after winning all three of their matches so far.

In the boys 14, Canduman FC climbed to second with a, 6-1 thrashing of SJSM/3 Brothers, while the ANS Pomeroy trails at third place after squeaking past Los Amigos, 2-1.

In the boys 12, Canduman FC A and SHS-AdC ruled their respective brackets. Canduman topped bracket A with nine points while the Magis Eagles led bracket B with 12 points.

Visiting team Los Amigos is dominating the players 10 bracket A with six points while bracket B has Count FC on top with seven points.
